In the afternoon of 9 October, at the working session with the Ministry of Transport delegation headed by Minister Nguyen Van The, Tran Quoc Nam - Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan People's Committee said that the province is coordinating with private investors Phan Rang - Thap Cham railway rehabilitation project to Da Lat (Lam Dong).

Under the master plan approved by the Prime Minister, this railway will be restored in the period of 2020-2030. Mr. Nam requested the Ministry of Transport to support.

Answering this proposal, Minister Nguyen Van The affirmed that the Phan Rang - Thap Cham railway to Dalat will be a product linking tourism, creating conditions for local socio-economic development. MOT encourages Ninh Thuan to implement this project. Regarding the high speed railway project across the province, the Minister asked the Ministry's specialized agencies to work with the locality to unify the route plan.

Minister Nguyen Van The suggested the local unified solutions to handle the crossroads through Hoa Trinh railway station; Strengthen the management, not to create new self-open crossroads and blame the local leaders.

The Phan Rang - Da Lat Railway was 84 km long built by the French from 1908 to 1932. There are 12 terminals and 5 underground tunnels (1,090 m in length), with two jagged sections nearly 14 km long. Since 1968, the rail line ceased to operate and, by 1975, was restarted but only operated to seven stops. In 1986, almost all railways, sleepers on this route were disassembled. In 8/2015, the Prime Minister issues a decision approving the adjustment of the master plan for development of Vietnam's railways transportation up to 2020 with a vision to 2030; This includes the restoration of Thap Cham - Da Lat railway
