The project is divided into 3 phases. Phase 1 of Dau Giay - Tan Phu section through Dong Nai province, 60 km long, 17m wide road surface, total capital of about 7 thousand billion in the form of BOT. The feasibility study report for phase 1 is expected to be approved in the third quarter of 2018, followed by international bidding, investor selection, and commencement in early 2019.

Phase 2 of Tan Phu - Bao Loc section, located in Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces with a length of about 66km, 17m wide road surface, investment capital of about 17 thousand billion VND, funding to mobilize loans from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). At the end, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong section is located in Lam Dong province, 73 km long, 17m wide, with an investment capital of 13 trillion dong.

The Dau Giay - Lien Khuong expressway has three component projects, including Dau Giay - Tan Phu section; Tan Phu - Bao Loc section and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong section; passing through the territory of Dong Nai province including 2 component projects namely Dau Giay - Tan Phu and Tan Phu - Bao Loc. According to preliminary calculations, the project clearance area of ​​the Tan Phu - Bao Loc section is nearly 1.7 thousand hectares, of which 375 hectares are in Tan Phu district.

To implement the first phase of Dau Giay - Tan Phu section with a length of 60km, it is necessary to use more than 460 ha of land, passing through 4 districts: Thong Nhat, Xuan Loc, Dinh Quan and Tan Phu. Specifically, the land area for the project in Thong Nhat district is over 64 hectares, Xuan Loc district over 16 hectares, Dinh Quan district over 160 hectares and most of Tan Phu district nearly 220 hectares.

According to the plan approved by the Ministry of Transport, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu segment will be implemented from 2018-2020 and is expected to start in 2019.

According to the consulting unit, the related procedures need to be implemented in parallel to ensure the progress. This unit also committed to transfer information on the alignment of the project, the scope of land clearance for the province as well as four localities: Thong Nhat, Xuan Loc, Dinh Quan and Tan Phu to update the planning of use. of land, from which there are plans to clear the ground.

The Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway belongs to the planning of the development of Vietnam's expressway network up to 2020. The route is designed to connect Lam Dong with Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and other provinces in the key economic region. to the south, at the same time replacing Highway 20 is overloaded with over 15 thousand vehicles per day.
